A small port town laid on the outskirts of a lush island, in it's harbor was moored gallant ship that bore the joy roger of a pirate crew, smaller ships baring the same logo docked around it. The town was silent save for the bar, and some of the streets as the ruffians plagued those areas with their foul mortality, demanding riches, alcohols, and respect. Unfortunately for them, one wayward traveler did not share their sentiment for respect, and despite the trouble the town was in, their shunning of the outsider would lead to them dealing with the pirate problem, which the outsider stole one of their ships, knocking out the two drunk guardians, and sailing away for places unknown, and unknowingly bringing down the wrath of the pirates for their stolen vessel upon the next island she ventured to.
Day turned to night as the star filled sky guided her path forward towards the nearest island she had knowledge of, Lantern Island, a place famed for it's quiet beauty. She'd find that island suitable to rest at while she formulated more of a plan and looked at the small amount of clues she had, hopefully against the maps the island held, even if they were slightly outdated as they all seemed to be in these backwater places. Chewing happily on an apple she drifted along with the seas breeze, thankful for it as she'd make good time.
A few days had passed when the woman made landfall upon the island, her adventure just beginning as she pulled the smaller boat onto the shore and anchored it to avoid becoming stuck here. Her approach was from the south of the village she had spotted so as to not draw alarm to a pirate flag she had nothing to do with. A small trek later and she arrived in the town, gazing around at the populace it was larger then she expected, and the many lanterns that hung from the arches of this quiet and nice village sure lived up to the islands name. Wandering into the town proper she waved as she saw some of the people but they all turned away from her or paid her no mind, just like the other island. Was everything this unfriend or untrusting? She couldn't blame some of them but all or most? Entering what she thought to be an inn, which doubled as a bar she wandered up to the counter, and flashed some berries, as she got the attention of who she presumed to be the owner, as with most of these small towns the bar keep was, or at least their friend.
"Yeah?" the scruffy man said, his stature tall, yet his mannerism casual.
"Got a drink and board?"
"Drink yes, board no."
"Wait, why not board, this is an inn?" Aurora stated, confusion in her eyes as she fluttered them aghast.
"Are you telling me how to run what I own?"
"Well, no but..."
"But nothing, what's your poison?"
"Brandy." she said passing the bill off to him as she went to prepare it. Slumping she sighed, she just wanted to finally be free and have an adventure, yet everyone was just as rude as the others back at HQ.

Brandy had spent a good amount of the morning south of the village in the waters of the West Blue, diving for treasures and long forgotten secrets hidden in the depths of the ocean. Candle Village was known throughout Lantern Island to be a market town- a location primarily focused on the selling and trading of goods and services. As such a large majority of the townsfolk were merchants and salvagers, while also diversifying into whatever sort of career they sought out for themselves. Brandy was no exception to this and picked up salvaging rather quickly from a young age, finding the role fitting due to her 'unique' qualities. Of course it helped that she could breathe underwater too, and swim with ease, even managing to get past depths humans couldn't handle. This allowed her to find a lot of special and rare goodies no one else could find.
The door to the bar opened with a chime and Brandy let herself in, the door closing behind her by itself. Small droplets of water ran down her still somewhat damp hair and onto the wooden floor in a puddle as she took a second to scan the room, a large net bag almost the same size as her overflowing with oddities flung over her back. Her neutral gaze glossed over the room before she stepped forward, making her way toward the front of the bar. She didn't appear to have any trouble dragging the bag despite its size, simply setting it down once she got to the counter.
"Hey, Brandy" the old barkeeper greeted the pink haired girl as he made a drink and placed it before the newcomer without looking at her. He grabbed a cloth and began to wipe down some glasses. "Come in with a new haul?" It was only then that Brandy noticed the oddball, lingering a curious gaze on her for a few seconds before turning back to the barkeep.
"Yeah, I found some bottles you might like." She opened the net and shuffled through a few objects before pulling out two glass bottles and placing them on the counter, some residual sea water trickling down and pooling under them. "They seem like tempered glass, hefty and solid. Should last for quite a long time. High quality." The old man placed down the glass he was cleaning and picked up one of the bottles, giving it a few good taps on the wood to check.
"Ah, sure seems like it. These might have been old rum bottles by the looks of them... Say, is this payment for the time you broke my wine glasses?" The old man offered her a sly smile, his tone dripping with playfulness. Brandy's face grew red and she shrunk down a little.
"S-Still holding onto it all these years later?" She shot him a scowl.
He chuckled, "ha, no no not at all. I could take these off you though. How about... Hm, lets say ten hundred berries each?" He asked, raising it up to the light to examine it.
"Twenty two hundred berries each" Brandy shot back without even an ounce of hesitation.
"Fifteen."
"Seventeen."
"... Fine, seventeen it is. But I expect my next physical to have a precent off for good patronage" the old man grumbled, reaching into his pocket and pulling out of bills to slide over to her. Brandy happily accepted the money into her pocket with a satiated smile. After doing so Brandy looked towards the girl further down the counter again, trying to remember if this was in fact someone new or it she was forgetting someone.
"Who's the girl?" she asked him quietly, turning her gaze to him and leaning forward as to not draw her attention.
"Don't know, don't care. Some outsider, wanted a room. Don't suppose she'll be around long now." He answered, beginning to clean the bottles. Brandy thought on it a bit more before remembering she had seen a strange ship with a Jolly Roger docked near to where she had been swimming. Her heart sank at the thought. A pirate? That meant trouble. Although, she supposed she didn't have enough evidence to fully pin the ship to the girl. They didn't get a ton of visitors, but it wasn't uncommon for folks passing through to come by for their markets. Well, there was only one way they'd know. They'd have to chat her up. She didn't expect anything from the old man though, he always had a stick up his ass about outsiders since forever.
"You know, I could always push her out of here if you need" Brandy offered, knowing things could get messy if she was in fact a pirate, and this wasn't exactly her first time dealing with them.
"Your last five hundred berries might be involved if you do."
Brandy hopped onto one of the seats closer to the purple haired woman, and without hesitation, ordered a drink to fit in a bit more with the cliental. "A rum if you would, Wallace" she said with a smile.
The old man rolled his eyes. "Coming up."
Brandy's eyes fixed on the back wall for a few moments to defuse the situation before turning her head over to the woman. "Oh, I'm sorry I believe you're new here? I apologize about Wallace if he's given you any grief, he can be a bit fickle when it comes to fresh faces. What brings you to Candle Village?" Start with a question, and they'd go from there. If she was normal, well they might have a new client. If not...

Well, this was it, rock bottom. Not entirely, but the set backs were more numerous then she had wanted. Towns were less hospitable then she had wished for, and the adventure thus far had proven more difficult then previously anticipated. Still, she tried to be optimistic, even if the bar keep had given her less then the listed price, he did fill the glass with the correct drink, unlike others, so that was a start. She agonized within her mind what to do next, perhaps she'd have to steal a map? No, that wouldn't do she might be able to buy one, then if it didn't work out steal or sketch it if given enough time, and provided this town even had one in the first place. Horrendous, even with a map of the blue or part of it she wouldn't be any closer to finding it, her fathers treasure, only clue was west blue, ah yes good clue dad the one place that was filled with the bloody things.
She was about to rant within her own mind, yet this was thankfully interrupted by the introduction of a pink haired woman who entered the sparely populated bar. She spoke with the bar keep about something, huh, they seemed chummy, so she was a local too, and he mentioned check up, interesting she was some sort of doctor, or nurse maybe? Perhaps she was just the best they had of that sort, still good information. As she stared blankly at her glass, focusing on the conversation which was turning more casual and pointless, the woman moved over to her, Aurora not reacting, she didn't wish to give away her talent for eaves dropping quite yet, only when spoken too did she look directly at her, huh her eyes were... dishonest.
"Oh, it's no big deal, yeah I'm new in town, arrived just today, stopping by and all that on my larger travels." she took a swing, though by now she didn't have much left, "Also, don't apologize for the guy I just showed up out of the, 'west blue'" she paused, proud of herself, "and thought I could get a room here, not a problem if he doesn't want me to stay here."
Aurora pondered a bit, "Rum, huh? you are kind of... lithe for that, got some kind of story behind that drink choice, or am I enough of a social pariah around here for you to tell me to buzz off, before you get any buzz going?"

Despite being turned away the girl was rather cordial about it all. A lot of outsiders were less than stellar about their treatment here, often leading to either fights or a quick escape from them... But this girl was understanding? Brandy couldn't tell if her words were true or not. They seemed to be genuine and warm, even tossing in a pun which Brandy had to force herself to not roll her eyes at. Perhaps she was just a traveler after all. Still... She couldn't help but feel a slight bit of anxiety if she couldn't find out who the pirate was, and she wasn't completely convinced yet of this girl's innocence just from an explanation on her account. "Interesting. We do get a lot of people on our shores, but most of them are merchants or from the surrounding islands. Not many travelers. The West Blue is the least mapped out so there aren't a lot of maps with us on it. How did you find us?" A simple, non intrusive question. It was true, after all. If this girl didn't find them from word of mouth from merchants or just out of pure coincidence, they might have a real problem on their hands.
Wallace slid over the drink once he was done. Brandy caught it with a quick hand, picking it up and swirling it a bit more taking a sip. She had to give it to the woman, she was pretty friendly. The doctor wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, but either way it was a nice change of pace. "It's fine, alcohol isn't the only reason you come to a bar. Rum is one of the healthiest drinks. The lightweight stuff is actually more unhealthy because of the added sugars. Pure alcohol can actually be good for you, in spare concentration of course." She took another sip "besides, the frilly drinks don't do anything for me." Most likely due to her genealogy a lot of the human alcohols were rather weak. It was a shame, even the harder stuff was barely enough sometimes. Brandy looked down to the woman's drink, smiling a bit. "I see you have rather fine taste yourself. I'm Brandy, apprentice doctor of the village."

"Uh well, I, was just..." Crap, this wasn't the greatest of situations she'd been in. She wasn't in life threatening danger, but giving even a hint to locals of what her ideas were could lead to the world government catching onto her trail and then it was game over, she might be tough but she couldn't take on the big leagues in the world, not yet at least. "I'm a navigator of sorts..." she spouted with an upward inflection, as she swirled the few remaining drops of liquid in her glass, her neurons firing quickly to come up with a decent explanation. "So I have a few older maps lying around and they led me here, trying to just see where the breeze takes me right now so to speak, thus why I wanted a more current map or at least to see if any other locations were known to the town but not to me. I could always repay you by updating your villages if the town would like?" That was good, hopefully it would buy her some time.
"Anyway, a doctor huh? Well, sorry, apprentice doctor." She cleared her throat, "That's pretty neat, though why a doctor needs to salvage to make a living is a bit worry some. the village in that bad of straights? If it is, maybe someone should accept payment when offered." That last bit was in a snarky tone as she briefly leered with the Wallace fellow who seemed to have the same skill Aurora did, a briefly annoyed expression was glanced out of the corner of Aurora's eye. "tell you what, since you are so keen to get to know me, buy me a round if my little tales aren't what you are looking for yet, I've been told I tell them better while I'm a bit under the influence."

A navigator? A rather vague answer, and one that seemed to get the girl nervous a bit. Seemed as though she was breaking some ice with her questioning. Although, she didn't give her a name when she offered her own. There seemed to be more to this story than she was letting on, although Brandy didn't want to corner the woman that would get them nowhere. "... I see" the doctor leaned back in her chair, disconnecting eye contact to look at the wall in order to make her feel a bit more comfortable. "That could be useful, although I don't know how much say I would really have in that decision. That would be up to the mayor to decide. On one hand, it could get more circulation of people around. On the other, might draw more attention than its worth, you know, with all pirates out these days" she took a drink, but subtly looked out the corner of her vision to see how the woman would react to the last part.
She seemed to try and break away from the subject, and Brandy wouldn't push it any further. She would instead continue to her next question. "I don't necessarily need it to make a living, although having the spare income can be nice. It's more everyone in the village is a merchant or a trader in some way. It's what we're known for, we're the prime trading hub between the islands around here. Becoming a salvager to take advantage of it just seemed like a smart move seeing how old this sea is. There's a lot of treasure down where people can't normally go to, a lot of things you can't find elsewhere. They pay good money for it." The payment for being a village doctor wasn't exactly the highest, but it wasn't like she was poor or anything. People do get sick, rather regularly at that. Its just, well, when you're a doctor your cliental isn't exactly the most diverse. Brandy perked up a bit when the woman basically egged her on to buy her another round to get more stories out of her. Actually, that wasn't a bad idea. Not bad at all. Why hadn't she thought about that? She could get her drunk enough to loosen any hidden intent out of her. She got a devious grin on her face before it softened. "Well, I don't have any appointments today... I suppose you've been fun enough company for me to stay. I would love to hear some stories. I don't get off the island to have any myself." She turned to the old man with a cheerful wave "oh Wallace, one more round, and another few after that. Put it on the professor's tab, if you would." The barkeep waved her off and grabbed a few more glasses from the shelf. Brandy turned back to the woman, slouched over the table with her head resting on her palm, pink eyes waiting eagerly for some of these stories. "So?"

Public officials huh? More importantly this woman wasn't willing to be a mid point of communication, that would frustratingly delay things. Not that she had any say in the matter, maybe she could just get word of mouth or try and blindly navigate, a fools errand but her luck wasn't horrific. "Yeah, Pirates." Aurora calmy stated, her tone much less playful then it had been, and her gaze more focused. Two thoughts fluttered within her mind, the thought of pirates raiding this town or it being a haven for a certain group of them, or this girl had discovered the boat Aurora had taken and believed she was in league with pirates. She wasn't of course but telling her own identity to this woman would be foolish and could very well lead to the World Government getting on her tail far faster then she would have liked. "Oh? Well how can I say no to that offer, use some of that salvager money on a weary traveler and I could tell a few tales."
A few drinks later...
"Did you know... that I was like, a super secret agent for... the World Government!" Aurora stated while laughing, her movements more erratic and her speech slightly slurred, "For real like, I've killed a bunch of people and stuff. Like, I've used my finger to do it too, I point and..." she made a little finger gun with her hand and pointed towards an empty corner, "Bang, ha ha ha." Aurora said with a drunken laugh following up her gesture. "It's true, been sent to the blues and the grand line, it's why I can navigate so good and stuff, cause the seas there SUCK." She hic'd slightly, her tolerance for alcohols hilariously low, but for Brandy's wallet quite perfect. "Say..." Aurora muttered as she forgot personal space existed, getting her own face closer to Brandy's, "You know you are kinda cute, and nice for buying me this stuff... you got a boyfriend or something?" She pulled back to take a drink, "Cause if you don't, the men of this town are totally lame for not, like, at least trying. I mean, i'm guessing by your name they probably tried to get you all drunk but you made them fall under the table huh? Oh that was a good joke, I should write that down."

The woman didn't seem to react very well to the mention of pirates. It caused Brandy to raise a curious eyebrow. It meant one of two things... either she held a disdain for pirates, or she was one. Although, out of the two the first seemed more plausible. Brandy sensed a bit of contempt following the change of her playful domineer. If so that was good, she wasn't sitting across from somebody who possibly wanted to cause harm to the village. Still, it did leave her with even more questions about the boat parked to the south... Who was the pirate, and why were they hiding?
... The thoughts ebbed and flowed around the waters of her mind before the alcohol flooded in and soon enough they drifted far from her subconscious...
Although human alcohol wasn't enough for her to get stupidly wasted, it didn't mean it had absolutely no effect on her. As the drinks continued to pour and words were exchanged she could feel herself become calmer and less tense, her worries replaced by warmth and laughter. By now it had been a few hours and evening was creeping in. More people were tunneling into the bar after a long day's work, sitting in their usual places and talking amongst themselves as they awaited their drinks. Meanwhile the girls were still at the front, Aurora drunkenly babbling on about some of her past adventures among the blues while Brandy squawked and laughed about every single one of them like a distressed seagull. "What? No way! You can't kill people with your fingers that's stupid. Next you're going to tell me there are people who live in the clouds like its a sea or something" Brandy blurted out, slamming her hand on the counter, far more expressive and outward than she had been previously. She'd have to give the woman credit, she was extremely imaginative. These were like tales you'd tell to your children at bedtime. "You said you'd give me your adventures, not bedtime stories" she huffed, annoyed.
When the navigator paused for a second to dip into her personal space Brandy was caught off guard, jolting her head back a bit to keep a bit of distance. She couldn't help but blush a bit, becoming flustered by the sudden invasion of space and unprovoked compliment. "O-Oh? N-No. I don't" she answered, taking another sip of her drink. "I've had a lot of guys ask me out though, you know, with notes and gifts and such. Some proposed. One swore I was a mermaid after I rescued him from the ocean. I prescribed him delirium medication." She chuckled to herself awkwardly "none of them wanted to know me, just saw what was on the surface." the doctor leaned back in her chair, trying to recover from the sudden shock that brought her back from the alcohol haze. "Er, you know, you never did give me your name..." She tried to change the subject as quickly as she could.

"Sorry, sorry I should tell more like, cool stories, but so many of them are like classified and stuff, it could lead you to getting hurt." Aurora Slurred in a sarcastic sense, her mind fluttering with foolish ideas of what to say. Thankfully the conversation had taken a different turn, and Aurora was met with the flustered face of her patron. That was funny to watch, this girl seemed so stone face and had the hard act, but always gave in whenever someone teased, just like that one... oh, right. Even drunk Aurora got more somber then bombastic after a few delicate thoughts moved through her brain.
"Aw well, to hell with them then! Got to find someone who will try to know you for you and all that stuff. Not that I'd know anything about that, most just tell me to go away, or no please don't kill me!" She said the last bit with a half hearted laugh as she tried to stop wobbling quite as much, and take a less directed stance towards Brandy. "Stories huh? I got a lot... none of them really all that good. My old group and I we, we've done our fair share of work... killed a few pirate captains, saved some towns, rescued the damsels!" She said with a wink and a heartier expression, "But then there are others, people who wanted to know too much, weren't convenient, poof, gone." She looked down at the counter, her expression far softer and sadder, her emotions easily swaying while her inhibitions were hampered. "I don't want to ever kill again." she took a long pause, before finishing her current glass, "My names trouble... you don't want to know it, you've made me say too much anyway cause you got me all drunk, you vixen. Why you got to be all nice to me huh? Now I'm all happy and sad, this is like, the worst."

Although Brandy thought of the woman's stories as nothing more than fiction, there seemed to be a questionable truth to them. Her expression turned from that of hazily drunken and merry to somber and forlorn. The doctor couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt as she watched her change so quickly between the two, talking as though she had some darker past she was pushing behind her. Had she caused these memories to resurface? Was she upset? Whatever her past may have been, it didn't seem pleasant and was very apparently a sore spot. The doctor could understand wanting to leave memories buried and how painful it was to have them brought up, especially so casually. "Hmm... Well, I can't not call you something" the doctor hummed and tapped her finger on the counter surface in thought, taking the opportunity to thrust the conversation into something lighter in tone... And she also didn't want to linger on the fact that it was insinuated that she would be killed if she asked too much more. "Oh!" the doctor hit the palm of her hand with a closed fist "Eggplant. Get it? Because your hair, it's purple, and eggplants are... Purple." It was prefect logic, to the point where Brandy started snickering quietly- trying to hide it but ultimately failing miserably at doing so. Eggplant seemed to like jokes and puns, she'd enjoy the new name, wouldn't she? Brandy wasn't exactly good at joking, but at least she was trying, even if she was the only one who'd find it funny.
Brandy wiped a tear away from her eye after having a small giggle, catching her breath again. "Sorry about being hard on you, I didn't mean to bring up anything bad. We get a lot of pirates around here so I wanted to make sure you weren't one is all, and getting someone drunk is an easy way to get the truth from them. But, I can tell you're not, so my bad" she gave an awkward smile. Still, better safe than sorry. Pink eyes fell down to the counter, growing a little sour. "There was a pirate ship south of here. I saw it while i was salvaging so I wanted to be safe rather than sorry... Still, makes me wonder..." the doctor went quiet for a few seconds before shaking her head and looking back up to Eggplant. "Anyway, it's getting late, do you have a place you're staying at around here? I should make sure you get there before it's too dark, especially if those pirates are around." She'd take reasonability if the woman got herself into a mess, and she couldn't have that on her subconscious.

Eggplant? What a stupid nickname. Even in her drunken state she knew it was horrible, and she'd for sure regret it if she didn't speak up, but the only true counter to such a terrible name would be to give her real name and she didn't wish to, as to not endanger everyone here, so she just had to suck it up. "Yeah, that's just... that's great, sure call me that." Cringe was audible in her voice and mannerisms as she tried to keep her attention up, despite becoming more tired as the day had run it's course, sailing took it toll without proper care of ones self. "I'm no fan of pirates, I guess some can be okay, but that's once in a blue moon, most are just people making excuses for ruining the lives of others, still they keep the marines busy, if they are even paying attention in the first place." She swayed a bit, but remained somewhat composed, the more serious topics even though most light hearted tones keeping her stable.
Wait, the pirate ship, oh that was what all this was about, Aurora could resolve that easily, "Oh a pirate ship? Right, I forgot about that, see I don't actually own a proper ship so I kind of stole one from some pirates, beat two of them up and took off. Guys probably have no clue where it went anyway, so what's the harm? I'm a good navigator, if they even bothered to follow or even know where it is, they'd at best arrive by... I don't know, morning maybe? Yeah right, they were busy looting and finding places to 'pillage'." Aurora snickered to herself as she whined a bit as the glass was empty and her eyes were fogging a bit, her less slurred but more exhausted speech indicative of her current mood, "I was going to find a nice box and lean up against a building, kills the neck but whatever, not my first time."

"Oh you stole a pirate ship, yeah, makes sense actually" Brandy unconscious nodded her head, at first not taking the words and their meaning in. A few seconds passed as her brain tried to catch up to her mouth, pink eyes widening horrifically and her skin turning ghost white, her mouth slowly growing more agape before words were forced from her throat. "... WAIT YOU WHAT!?" The doctor jumped up from her chair, grabbing ahold of Eggplant's shirt as if she just couldn't quite grip it hard enough to express the sudden surge of anger boiling out from within. It finally clicked, like finding the final piece to one of those thousand piece puzzles. It was THAT boat this stranger had found their island with, and she had parked it south as to not freak the townsfolk out with its Jolly Rodger flag. That's why she hadn't seen any pirate activity yet, because their 'pirate' was right here. Although, if this was the case, the pirates who actually owned that boat would come looking for it, and it was only a matter of time until they did.
Silence followed suit after the doctor's sudden outburst, and chattering and clanking of mugs halting as everyone's eyes turned to her worryingly. Brandy froze in place, the sudden hush of the bar chilling her to the bone. She slowly tore her eyes away from the navigator and towards the people with an awkward expression... "Crap, that was loud. I can't let them know there's a pirate crew currently heading towards the island as we speak. That would cause mass panic." Taking a few precious seconds to think Brandy turned back to the girl she was still holding by the collar with a nervous laugh. "Ha, aha what do you mean you drank all day? You... Silly goose you'll get alcohol poisoning. I, erm, I need to get you some... Ipecac. Yep. That's what I'm gonna do. Come with me, to get some Ipecac." Brandy quickly rushed out from the bar, dragging with woman behind her with a firm hand like a mother escorting their toddler out of a store. She exited through the door, but popped her head back in for a second before fully leaving "bythewayWallaceI'llbebackformystufftomorrowokbye."
Once outside Brandy pushed Eggplant up against the wall of the bar, absolutely furious, even with a hushed voice. "You stole a pirate ship are you kidding me??? What the actual hell made you think that was a good idea?! They'll come here looking for it, are you insane?! You put us all in danger!"

The slightly drowsy and emotionally confused Aurora neatly nodded along with the words spoken by Brandy until her drinking buddy shouted and nearly made Aurora fall off the stool, catching herself with surprising reflexes, though she was still perched on the edge of the seat. The world spun around her as the ringing in her ear grew louder and louder, and before Aurora could fully fall off the stool Brandy seemed to whisper various words about Aurora not feeling well and then brought the girl relief as she dragged Aurora along, Aurora almost falling to the floor, but managing to her feet abet sloppily and wobbly as she was brought out of the bar/inn. Slammed up against the wall of the bar, Brandy berated her, though Aurora wasn't too fazed it wasn't her first time being slammed up against a wall and yelled at for incompetence. That wasn't a good thing come to think of it.
"If you are going to be this mean to me at least buy me a drink first... oh wait you did!" Aurora laughed faintly as she struggled a bit, "Hey this is my good coat, and my only one, don't hurt it..." Wait, was she forgetting something? Breathing Aurora got enough composure to speak somewhat plainly again, and remember this was about the pirate ship. "Should I have stolen a ship from a civilian? That isn't very nice." Aurora paused, "There's no way they will come here looking for it and if they did they have to be at least half a day behind... if they even cared it's such a small boat. Oh wait, come to think of it they did have some berries and a bit of gold on it, maybe they will be mad, my bad." Aurora gave a goofy grin as she slumped, letting Brandy's rage hold her up, "Anyway, relax I'll just like, beat them up and stuff if they come around here, how hard can it be, I've killed like, much worse stuff before, though I guess I won't be killing, more like driving off, so it might be a bit harder... yay a challenge!" The rattling from the shouting and the bit of extra she had finally hit her in full, and the girl was ready to just doze off right then and there, her mind idly laughing at the idea of a battle, despite just how serious the threat could truly be.

Well if it wasn't the consequence of her own actions. In her drunken state Eggplant didn't seem to understand the dire situation she had put both herself and the village in. Perhaps if she was sober the woman would be more receptive, but right now it seemed she just wanted to fall asleep and deal with it when the morning came. But they didn't have enough time for her to get sober, they needed to deal with this right now. "How about not stealing anything from anyone?! Especially not from people who pillage and kill for a living!" Her inebriated mannerisms were infuriating the doctor, it was like talking to a brick wall... An intoxicated brick wall.
What could they do? There was no guarantee the navigator could live up to her words of grandeur, they didn't know how tough these pirates were. If they made it, the whole island would suffer. They would have to see fit that the boat was moved elsewhere, that way the pirates wouldn't be able to spot their lost ship. "You have to leave, okay? Take your ship elsewhere that way the pirates wont notice-" Brandy paused, noticing the woman was beginning to nod off "hey wake up I'm talking to you! Don't sleep you have to leave! Are you listening to me?! They'll kill us all, I don't care how strong you think you are!" Brandy was getting manic by this point, worry and anger filling her body, but Eggplant didn't seem to understand the current situation at all, and it grew her rage even more. With her hands shaking Brandy clenched one into a fist and punched the woman in the face with full force, hoping it would wake her up. "WAKE UP DAMMIT!" the doctor yelled, her teeth clenched in anger. It wasn't for a couple seconds, as she breathed in and out to calm herself, that she remembered her strength, and her anger turned to a chilling worry. She stared down at the girl still in her grasp, looking for any sign that she hadn't just murdered someone. "Shit, she's okay, right? I didn't mean to punch her that hard."

A whole lot of noise drowned out by a worry free liquored metabolism kept a goofy grin on Aurora's face as her consciousness was fading. Warmly she dripped into the sweet embrace of sleep, and just as the woman was about to sail to dream land reality came in and slugged her into the wall, indent and all. One hell of a hook graced her bewildered and inebriated face, damaging the side of the bar/inn that they were perched outside. The pain took a second to register within her mind but when it did, it hit her similar to a freight train, "OW!" Aurora shouted as she gripped her head with both hand and shook back and forth, "That hurt, damn it! What did I do to deserve that!" Aurora stumbled a bit, jolted awake for the moment, her mind fighting the pain and trying to remember, "Oh right, pirates could be coming, I guess I deserved something but not THAT, THAT hurt a lot, what are you a brute?" the girl breathed heavily as she calmed herself, a puffy red mark on her head that would surely form into a bruise.
"You hit like the Captain, you sure you are a doctor? What did you take a hypocritical oath?" She was proud of that come back even if her mind was fading again, the injury not helping entirely with her truly waking up as now she really did wish to sleep off not only the alcohol but the pain. "If it bothers you so much just move the boat, set it out to sail on the seas, then like lend me one from the town or something... problem solved." Aurora said wobbly as she started to drift off again, this time even happier to embrace the sweet coma of sleep.
