Brandy was relived when the woman let out a cry of pain, as hypocritic as that sounds for a doctor. Thankfully she was alive, she hadn't killed her... Not yet anyway. The next few sentences to leave the navigator's inebriated mouth almost made Brandy wish she had actually died from the punch, that way she could at least be helpful by not being an annoying pain in the ass. The doctor could see she wasn't going to get anywhere with her. If she wanted it dealt with, she was going to have to do it herself. The pink haired girl sighed, "fine, if you're not going to be helpful I'll do it myself. But first..." she paused, tossing the sleepy female over her shoulder almost effortlessly "lets set you up for the night, so when morning comes I can yell at you properly for all the trouble you've caused." With an annoyed huff Brandy began to the track back to her place, keeping an arm wrapped around Eggplant so she wouldn't slide off in the state she was in.
After a few minutes the doctor had managed to make it there. It was a stone house, two stories with an office in the front and a common living area on the second floor- quite obviously the down stairs being used for for work and the upper being where the doctor and his apprentice slept. Brandy carried her up to the second floor quietly, the darkness making it a bit difficult but after enough fussing around she managed to navigate it well enough to not cause too much distress to the passenger. She opened the door to her room with a small tap of her foot, walking up to her bed and tossing the woman onto it. She stared at her for a few moments, backtracking on the day in her mind. Just who was this woman? She was so upfront, yet not at the same time. Her stories plagued her brain, trying to pick out truth from the exaggerations, only to no luck. Whatever, she'd be gone by tomorrow, and would be nothing but a strange blimp of a memory come nightfall. Brandy turned to leave, glancing one last look out of the corner of her vision a she hesitated at the door before turning the nob and closing it quietly behind her. Something told her she wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight anyway.

A walk to south of Lantern Island was a bit of a trek, but after half an hour of walking the mermaid finally reached her destination. By now it was late, the crickets chirping their lullabies and the stars dotting the darkened sky. The tide was gentle, small waves licking the edges of the sand before curling back into the sea. It was overall a very pleasant night, and would be normally a very nice time to take in her surroundings and relax a little if it wasn't for the worry creeping into her heart.
It didn't take too much longer to retread her steps from earlier in the day and find the small ship still docked where it had been, looming over the beach with its Jolly Rodger still flying high in the sky. Brandy took a few seconds to take in the design, and ready herself to climb aboard. The last time she was on a pirate ship was... She shook the thought from her mind and climbed up the side, using a rope slacked over the edge. Once aboard Brandy she took a few moments to look around, and it was only then hit with the realization that... "... Wait, how do you sail a ship?" Right, she needed to know how to drive a boat in order to be able to sail it away from the island. Hm. This was a problem. She approached the helm, turning it a few times only to no avail. The doctor thought to herself for a few moments, placing a finger under her chin. "Well, first you have to lift the anchor, right? But I don't think there's a good enough wind for the sails, and the waves aren't large enough to do anything..." a lightbulb light up above her head "or... What if I made the waves?" Locating the anchor Brandy cranked it back up with a few big turns. "Okay, first part done. Now for a little mermaid magic..." Closing her eyes Brandy began to motion with her hands as if she was pulling something along the air, imitating the movement of waves. At first nothing happened, but after the second pull the waves in the ocean began to grow more violent, crashing against the boat's side. After a few more pulls the waves grew larger and larger until they were big enough to push to ship out of its resting place and traveled along with the current. Feeling the boat move Brandy opened her eyes after a couple more minutes of pushing the ship along, turning back towards the island to watch it move further and further away. She placed her hands on her hips, pretty proud of herself that she had managed to do it. A smile grew on her lips, breathing out what felt like all the tension in her body. She felt lighter, and her worries faded the further they got. "Good, once the island is out of sight I'll dive into the ocean and swim back to shore. No problem. Disaster avoid-" she was cut off from finish her sentence as she was knocked off her feat, the ship suddenly jolting and shaking her to the floor. She fell, landing on her side and letting out a hiss of pain. "Ow, what the-" the boat had stopped moving, and as Brandy's pink eyes fluttered open, she looked up, a looming shadow entering her vision. She blinked a few times, her eyesight a bit blurry before they cleared, and what was revealed to her shook her to her core. The ship had crashed into the side of another ship, a much, much larger ship, and standing above her, were figures cloaked in darkness. Most were regular sized, guns and swords pointed towards her as they sneered down. But in the middle stood an extremely large, almost spherical figure, one who let out a dark and bellowing, guttural laugh.
"Ho-Ho-Ho! Finally found ya, ey our little thief friend~"
...
Night turned to morning, and there was no sign of Brandy's return. The office would remain as quiet as she left it. The streets, however, were another story. Panic traveled through the village, hushed whispers and cries sounding from down below as people either tried to hide or were warning others of some kind of danger. Something was happening, and it was the talk of the town.
