Profession Guide
Overview: What is a character’s path in life? Well, the profession Guide answers that question and provides mechanical benefits to the character at the same time. Did your character always desire to be a Commander? Perhaps a Scientist or a Freelancer, all are available and have a wide array of interpretation of what the job entails. A cook could specialize in one style of dish above others in character, while a Scientist could build great machines, or work with chemicals in a laboratory, all are possible and fair interpretations of the professions used as examples. Mechanically, Professions work as follows:
Profession Limits: Characters have a limit of one Profession chosen at Character Creation. Character's may increase this limit to two Professions if they take the 'Professional' Trait. Characters may not select the same Profession more then once.
Profession Benefits: All professions possess benefits bestowed upon the Character upon taking it. Additionally there are further Benefits to selecting a Profession, all of which are listed under the Ship system as Ship Upgrades, these must be purchased with Berries.
Professions Clarification: Whenever a Profession refers to its Title in the Description Benefit, that term refers to the Character who has the Profession. For Instance, if the Term Commander is used in the Commander Profession Description or Benefit, then the instance of Commander could easily be replaced by the term Character that has the Commander profession. It is simply cleaner to write the Professions Title each time standalone then writing out “Character that has the X Profession.”
