Attribute Guide
Overview: Attributes represent a Character physical and mental aptitude and determine part of their overall base capabilities. For example: One Character might have incredible Strength, top notch Endurance, but middling Agility, and mediocre Willpower. Similarly, another Character might have decent Strength and Endurance but good Willpower and exceptional Agility. Naturally, these are simple anecdotal examples, but that is what the purpose of attributes are, to help tell the story of your Character mechanically on the forum. To that end, below are the various rules, descriptions, and mechanics for how Attributes interact on the forum:
Attributes: There are 5 different Attributes all Characters possess, those being: Strength, Agility, Finesse, Endurance, and Willpower, the detailed descriptions of which are gone over further on in this guide.
Attribute Points: Each Attribute ranges in a Points value from 1-10 depending on how many Attribute Points are placed into a given Attribute. How one assigns and gains Attribute Points is dependent on a number of factors, listed below:
Character Tiers: Character Tiers award Characters with steady increases in their Base Attribute Point amounts as detailed below:
Tier 1: Character Creation Minimum, 8 Base Total Attribute Points.
Tier 2: +3 Base Attribute Points, 11 Base Total Attribute Points.
Tier 3: +3 Base Attribute Points, 14 Base Total Attribute Points.
Tier 4: +3 Base Attribute Points, 17 Total Base Attribute Points.
Tier 5: +3 Base Attribute Points, 20 Base Total Attribute Points.
Tier 6: +3 Base Attribute Points, 23 Total Base Attribute Points.
Tier 7: +3 Base Attribute Points, 26 Total Base Attribute Points.
Tier 8: +3 Base Attribute Points, 29 Total Base Attribute Points.
Tier 9: +3 Base Attribute Points, 32 Total Base Attribute Points.
Tier 10: N/A, 32 Total Attribute Points.
Traits: The Trait, Gifted, grants Characters 2 Attribute Points at Tier 1 and 1 additional Attribute Point every time they increase in Tier from Tier 1, up to Tier 6.
Perks: The Perks: Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Agility, Enhanced Finesse, Enhanced Endurance, Enhanced Willpower, and Legendary Stature, all grant the Character Attribute Points.
Species: The Species: Human, Automata, Fishmen/Merfolk, Mink, Skypiean, Oni, Lunarian, and Buccaneer all grant Attribute Points of various Flavors.
Spending Attribute Points: Attributes have Levels which range from 1-10. Every Point Spent in an Attribute increase that Attributes level permanently by +1. When Spending Attribute points there are a few caveats that must be noted. They are listed below:
Attribute Minimum and Maximum Values: Every Attribute must have at least a value of 1. Example: A tier 1 Character goes to spend their 5 Attribute Points, they must spend them in such a way that their Strength, Agility, Finesse, Endurance, and Willpower all have a value of 1, this typically means a Tier 1 (or Tier 0 NPC) Character’s Attribute Points will be spent giving all their Attributes at least 1 Point. Conversely Attributes can only have a maximum value of 10 regardless of any positive modifiers applied onto the Character or total Points a Character has to spend.
Attribute Maximums: Depending upon a Characters tier, only a certain number of Attribute Points may be spent in any of the five given Attributes that Character has. The list for such restrictions is as follows:
Tier 1: The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 4.
Tier 2: The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 5.
Tier 3: The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 6.
Tier 4: The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 7.
Tier 5: The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 8.
Tier 6+:The Highest any of the Characters Attributes may go is 10.
